SurveyArea3 was designed to work on Windows Mobile V5.0. This means that is uses Compact Framework V2.0. Most older PPC devices running PPC2003 still uses CF1.1. Therefore if you run SurveyArea3 on such a device you will get the following error:
But luckily all is not lost! If your device uses PPC2003 you can still download and install CF 2.0 and still use SurveyArea3 on your device.
How to install CF 2.0
You need a file called NETCFSetupv2.msi which you can download from Microsoft. Just click here to download .NET Compact Framework V2.0
After installing Compact Framework, SurveyArea3 should run on your PPC2003 device, but the email function will not work. If you want use the files on your desktop computer, you will have to transfer them manually.
Note : You still have to press the email button in order to save the files, but the email will not be sent.
Note : If your PPC does not run Window Mobile 5.0 and have a small 240x240 square screen (example HP 6515 or Treo), then I suggest you rather evaluate the predecessor SurveyArea V2 which was designed for PPC 2003 and a square 240 x 240 screen. Download Trial Version of SurveyArea2 here.
