This document describes how dealers can generate  a key for WildSoft products using the WildSoft key generator http://www.wildsoft.org/keygen

 

 

Concept of a pre-pay dealer account

 

The licensing scheme is based on a pre-pay concept.  Dealers buy the rights to sell X copies of a certain program at a fixed negotiated price.  They pay in advance for the amount of software licenses they expect to sell.   On our website they get an allocation of licenses corresponding to the amount bought.  Each time when they sell a copy of the software, they go to our website and generate a registration key for their customer.  Their pre-pay account will be decremented by one digit for the specific product and when all the licenses are depleted they again have to “top up” their account by buying more licenses.

 

Unique Serial Number for each customer

 

The registration screen of the application will show a unique serial number, which the customer must quote to you before you can generate his key.

 

Below is an example if the registration screen of the product GPSmapper for an un-registered user.  

 

 

Please note that the unique serial number “MA-537” is different for each computer on which the application run , and you have to ask the customer to send you this number in order to generate his key.   The serial number is based on the computer name, and will therefore only apply to a specific computer.  You must make it clear to your customer that he only buys the right to use the program on one computer.  If he wants to use it on more than one computer, he has to buy another license and get a new key for the new computer.

 

In order to generate the Registration Key you need to go to the website :

As a registered user you will receive a login name and password which is required to enter the website.  Please keep this information secure,

 

You will be required to log in and enter your username and password as supplied.  This will enable you to generate registration keys for your customers for all the products you have permission to sell.

 

The following screen shows the main Key Generator screen:

 

 

When you click on the “Generate Key”, the program will generate a key if the serial number was accepted.   It will give you a detailed output which you can copy and paste directly into an email for your customer.

 

Each key that you generate is considered a sale, and will be reflected against your account. 

 

You can also see a summary of all your previous sales by clicking on the “Show All Sales” button.   This is a useful database for yourself to keep track of your customers and sales record.

 

The “Pre-pay Account” button shows you how many licenses you have left in your account for each product type.

 

 

Identifying the product from the Serial number

 

In order to make it possible to easily identify which product a specific serial number belongs to,  we adopted a scheme whereby the first two characters in the product name is the same as that of the product.  For example

 

GPSacreage  -  Serial number begin with “AC-”

GPSmapper – Serial number begins with “MA-“

ThatWay  - Serial number begins with “TH-“

FieldBlockArea – Serial number begins with “FI-“

Birder – Serial number begins with “BI-“
